How to show hidden files and protected operating system files in Windows
Windows operating systems, by default, do not show hidden files or protected
operating system files. You may need to change these settings, for
example, to find a hidden file that you must modify or delete.
1) Double-click My
Computer.
2) Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
3) Click the View tab.
4) Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
5) Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files
and folders."
6) Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
7) Click Apply, and then click OK.
