How to show hidden files and protected operating system files in Windows
Windows operating systems, by default, do not show hidden files or protected
operating system files. You may need to change these settings, for
example, to find a hidden file that you must modify or delete.
1) Double-click the
My Computer icon on the Windows desktop.
2) Click the View menu, and then click Options or Folder Options.
3) Click the View tab.
4)Do one of the following:
Windows 95. Select "Show all files."
Windows 98. In the Advanced settings box, under the "Hidden files" folder, select Show all files.
